    Krups
Coffee Machines
Looking into some Krups coffee
machines? The Krups name dates back to 1845 in a forge
from the town of Wald near Solingen in North
Rhine-Westphalia, this forge was turned into an industrial
company. By 1900, the company became Germany’s main
producers for scales, but it wasn’t until 1960 that the
Krups company branched out into household appliances and
soon after Krups coffee machines.
Krups has developed a variety of different
machines that bring the commercial quality coffee makers
into your own home so that you can enjoy professionally
brewed coffee. Krups has gone and created Automatic
Drip Machines, Specialty Machines, Dual Carafe Coffee
Machines as well as Coffee & Espresso Combination
Machines.
Now, if you’re looking to get a hold of
one of these, it’s a good idea to do a little bit of
research on which ones will be best for you, here’s a quick
look at both ends of the spectrum, a budget coffee machine
and a high end one:
Krups Allegro Espresso
Makers
The Krups Allegro Espresso Maker is a
bargain at around $40, if you’re hurting for cash, this is
probably one of the best Krups coffee machines for
you. This will definitely help you to reduce your
Starbucks fees. This is a steam driven machine which
although won’t give you the rich flavor you get from pump
driven machines, with a bit of practice changing your
brewing methods around, you can find ways to compensate the
difference.
Now, if you’re looking to brew up a bunch
of espressos for guests, this may not be the best one to go
with, you may want to invest in a pump driven machine.
However, if you only care to make 1 or 2 drinks at a time,
this will do you well.
One issue I’ve found with this is that if
you’re steaming milk with a high fat content, the froth
nozzle can get clogged by the milk droplets easily.
You may think the machine is broken since steam isn’t coming
out even though the water is boiling. To deal with
this problem you need to switch to the steam setting
for a few seconds, blow out the milk so it doesn’t congeal
and then set it back in place.
Overall though, out of all the Krups coffee machines, this is a
great budget espresso machine that will yield years of
use.
Krups XP9000 Super-Automatic
Espresso Machine and Coffee Center
Ok, here’s one of the higher end Krups
coffee machines, this one goes for almost $1,500, here are a
few key points on this one:
-It is a fully automatic espresso machine
so you can put your coffee cup under the dispenser and just
press a button if you want a coffee, brilliant.
-In order to make a latte or cappuccino, you don’t need a
separate milk container, just froth the milk in the mug and
pull the espresso.
-You can use either whole beans or ground coffee.
-There’s a digital display that tells you to empty receivers,
or add water or beans.
-The quality of foam on the espresso is great.
-This is the closest thing you have to getting a coffee
shop quality coffee at home.
Now both of these Krups coffee machines
will do the job, but it’s up to you which one to get
depending on your budget. Just remember, these
machines can easily last a decade or longer, so divide the
price out over the years to get a better idea on what the
true price is.
